Come Together lost a cast member last week. ”Fluffer”, our small black pomeranian dog, played Robert’s Dog in our feature. All the actors admitted that she was a “scene stealer”. She passed away of natural causes. ”Fluffer” was two days shy of her 14th birthday and she’ll be greatly missed. We’re including a few production photos of “Fluffer” in her Native American Indian (this shot was used in the official DVD Art) and Devil costumes here. We’re also including one of the Special Features found on the DVD Release entitled; “Fluffer Blooper Reel.” This two-minute short is hosted by Mark Strano can be found on our You Tube Page HERE. Listen to what Mark says about his co-star and enjoy seeing Fluffer in rare behind-the-scenes footage. R.I.P Fluffer, you’ll live on in Come Together.
Come Together has international distribution in Indonesia, the UK, Thailand and Israel. However, we’ve recently secured distribution in Germany as well. Our German Distributor, SunFilm Entertainment, is doing a big push for the upcoming DVD/Blu-Ray German release. Check out the SunFilm website HERE to see the dubbed and shortened Come Together Trailer as well as the new German CT DVD Art. (Shown here)
Come Together actually came before Mr. Lucke. I wrote an early draft of Come Together right after my first script, another college-age, sexy comedy. My third script was Mr. Lucke. Since it was the most “camera-ready” we decided to make that film first. It’s been a long and winding road since then. I finished MR. LUCKE over TEN years ago and it’s finally getting some official recognition and on-line distribution. This extensive article goes into depth about not just my film but what it takes to make a film with limited resources. However, we got “lucky” with our casting choices. Check out Jerri Manthey BEFORE she was a SURVIVOR STAR or a PLAYBOY COVER MODEL. Thanks to all of my cast, my crew, Renderyard and Indiewire for keeping independent filmmaking alive! RollinSD has previously featured Vanessa Gomez, who plays “Angelina” and now they’re featuring Marisa Sullivan, who plays “Susan” in the sexy comedy, Come Together. Here’s a quote from Marisa; “The role playing scene where we did the ‘Groupie/Rock Star’ over the top campy craziness was my favorite. We were all dying laughing. As an over the top person, I am often told to tone it down….but for that scene, it was go big or go home! We got the green light to just shout out the most ridiculous things we could think of. It was hilarious.” To see the entire interview and photos click HERE.
In addition to doing a great synopsis and interview with Come Together Director Charles Unger, RollinSD.com interviewed Vanessa Gomez, who plays “Angelina” in the sexy comedy feature film. Here’s a quote from Vanessa; “Shooting “Come Together” was so much fun it’s hard to pick a favorite scene. However, if I have to choose, I would say my favorite was the dancing sequence. We blasted the music, got to shaken our behinds and let loose. This scene included all of the cast members and we improved the moves and reactions. I even got to “slap” David Stamps character Eric when he tried to grab some tail.” Check out the entire interview with some new photos HERE.
Alternative Reel not only gave us a great, in-depth review, but they also interviewed the film’s director. There’s a great quote that compares our sexy comedy to some of it’s influences. “…picture The Big Chill or The Breakfast Club on acid and you’ll get an idea of what we’re talking about here.” Here’s another quote; “Charles Unger has claimed that the film is loosely autobiographical and that he is a “film fanatic” who sought inspiration from the following movies: American Graffiti, Risky Business, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Singles, The Big Chill and Saint Elmo’s Fire. Indeed, viewers will be able to notice subtle influences from all of these films while watching Come Together.” For the full review and a link to the Q&A, click HERE.
